As Founding Partner of León Barrena Rodríguez & Partners and Morgans LLP, a North American professional services firm specializing in legal, tax, accounting, and government affairs, he advises across both private and public markets.

Throughout his legal career, he has represented clients from a broad range of industries in their most significant and complex legal matters. His work includes advising government policymakers, public institutions, and domestic and international companies on sophisticated transactions and regulatory frameworks, while supporting strategic growth initiatives.

He has joined our Advisory Board as a key contributor, bringing a track record in public equities and serving on the Global Equities Committee.

As an Advisory Board Member, Carlos Lopez Jones brings more than twenty-six years of experience in macroeconomic analysis, financial forecasting, and strategic corporate consulting across Mexico and Latin America. His career has focused on interpreting complex economic indicators and translating market intelligence into actionable strategies for corporations, family offices, and financial institutions.

Since 2000, Carlos has served as Director, Editor-in-Chief, and Director of Consulting at Tendencias Económicas y Financieras, where he leads the firm’s editorial, analytical, and strategic direction. The publication has established itself as a recognized source of economic and financial intelligence, covering indicators including inflation, exchange rates, GDP, employment, commodities, and global markets.

His expertise spans market volatility, capital allocation, asset management, and risk mitigation, with a particular ability to evaluate fiscal policy, inflationary trends, financial markets, and global economic developments. His analysis provides corporate leaders and investors with a deeper understanding of changing economic environments and their implications for long-term decision-making.

Carlos’s extensive experience in financial research and strategic consulting strengthens LBR’s Finance and Government Affairs Committees, supporting informed decision-making, economic insight, and strategic planning as our network navigates an increasingly complex global financial landscape.

Advisor Legal Committee

As Advisor to the Government Affairs Committee of León Barrena Rodríguez & Partners, Dr. Ghaleb Krame brings over twenty years of international experience in public safety, institutional strategy, and resilience policies across Mexico and the Middle East.

Throughout his career, he has held senior-level responsibilities within the governments of Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, and Guatemala, including serving as Undersecretary of Public Safety in two Mexican states. His work has focused on high-risk operations, institutional re-engineering, security policy, and strategic governance within complex environments.

Dr. Krame holds two doctoral degrees, in Procedural Law and Political Science, and has served as a professor at Rabdan Academy in Abu Dhabi, where he trained elite police, military, and naval personnel. He has also contributed to international police accreditation processes and the development of predictive analysis and peace-oriented technologies for high-conflict environments.

He has joined our Advisory Board as a key contributor to the Government Affairs Committee, bringing a multidisciplinary perspective grounded in international security, public policy, institutional resilience, and global governance.Etienne holds a Law degree from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School. His public-sector career includes senior positions at the Ministry of the Interior, the Federal Electoral Institute, the Legal Counsel’s Office of the Federal Executive, and the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, where he developed extensive expertise in constitutional, legislative, and regulatory matters.

As Advisor to the Finance and Government Affairs Committees of León Barrena Rodríguez & Partners in Mexico City, Mr. Fernando Soto-Hay Pintado brings over two decades of specialized experience in Mexico’s real estate and mortgage sectors, combining financial expertise with corporate strategy, public policy, and institutional leadership.

Throughout his career, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the Mexican mortgage and real estate industry. In 2003, he founded Tu Hipoteca Fácil, a leading residential mortgage brokerage firm that expanded to ten major cities and originated more than MXN 17 billion in mortgage credit under his leadership as Chief Executive Officer.

Beyond his corporate career, Mr. Soto-Hay Pintado has held influential roles in business media and academia, including positions on the editorial boards of Reforma and Entrepreneur. He is also a frequent contributor to Expansión and a recognized commentator across national radio and television, while serving as a lecturer in real estate development programs at ITAM, UNAM, and AMPI.

He has joined our Advisory Board as a key contributor to both the Finance and Government Affairs Committees, bringing a multidisciplinary perspective shaped by extensive experience in financial structures, real estate, public policy, corporate strategy, and institutional governance.

Government Affairs Committee

As a Corporate Observer to the LBR Advisory Board, Fernando Hegewisch Martínez brings a strong foundation in corporate litigation, dispute resolution, and constitutional law, complemented by a rigorous academic background. His experience provides the Legal Committee with a focused perspective on complex procedural and corporate matters.

Fernando is a Partner at Hegewisch Abogados, S.C., where he focuses on civil, commercial, financial litigation, and alternative dispute resolution. Prior to becoming a Partner, he spent more than five years at the firm as a Law Clerk, developing extensive experience in complex legal strategies, dispute resolution, and corporate advisory.

In addition to his private practice, Fernando has developed a strong academic profile at Universidad Panamericana, where he has taught General Theory of Procedural Law and Constitutional Injunction Law. His international legal experience includes representing Universidad Panamericana at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna.

Fernando’s rigorous analytical approach, commitment to procedural law, and expertise in corporate disputes and constitutional mechanisms strengthen LBR’s Legal Committee, supporting thoughtful oversight, strategic legal analysis, and effective navigation of complex corporate and cross-border matters.

Advisor Tax, Accounting & Assurance Committee

As an Advisory Board Member, Gregory J. Foster brings more than forty years of experience in corporate accounting, fiscal strategy, and cross-border regulatory compliance. His career has focused on financial oversight, international tax, forensic analysis, and strategic advisory, providing sophisticated guidance across complex financial and regulatory environments.

Gregory is the founder and principal of G. J. Foster & Associates, a Chicago-based accounting and financial consulting firm, where he provides comprehensive accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, entity structuring, retirement, and investment consulting. His practice extends beyond traditional tax services, supporting businesses through ongoing financial and structural oversight.

His specialized expertise includes the investigation and analysis of financial and tax fraud, as well as U.S.-Mexico tax compliance and cross-border corporate transactions. He has also held advisory and oversight roles with recognized financial and accounting organizations, including Curi RMB Capital, Forvis Mazars, Grant Thornton, and Miller Cooper & Co.

Gregory’s extensive multi-jurisdictional tax expertise, forensic financial insight, and institutional advisory experience strengthen LBR’s Tax, Accounting, and Assurance Committee, supporting rigorous financial governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making across increasingly complex international markets.

As Advisor to the Finance Committee of León Barrena Rodríguez & Partners, Mr. Ángel Díaz Valadez brings extensive executive experience across banking, fintech, brokerage, and the public sector, with a strategic focus on enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.

Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions across Mexico’s financial ecosystem, including Director of Risks and Fraud for LATAM at CLIQA Digital Inc., Director of Risks at Altor Casa de Bolsa, and Director of Credit Risk at PENSIONISSSTE. His work has encompassed credit and operational risk, behavioral risk prevention, internal controls, regulatory transformation, and the secure implementation of advanced financial infrastructures.

Mr. Díaz Valadez combines financial, commercial, technological, and governance expertise, with specialized knowledge in open banking, Basel regulations, solvency frameworks, SPEI and SPID payment infrastructures, and emerging financial models including crowdfunding, SOFOMs, and SOFIPOs.

He has joined our Advisory Board as a key contributor to the Finance Committee, bringing a sophisticated analytical perspective and a proven track record in strengthening institutional resilience, managing complex financial risks, and supporting sustainable corporate performance.

As an Advisory Board Member, José Antonio Quesada Palacios brings more than four decades of experience in corporate governance, financial regulation, and institutional leadership across Mexico and international markets. His career has centered on strengthening boards of directors, financial oversight, regulatory frameworks, and sound institutional decision-making.

He has held senior leadership positions across the public, private, academic, and financial sectors. He is a partner at MAAT Advisory, where he focuses on corporate governance and board strengthening, and previously served as Vice President of Regulatory Policy at Mexico’s National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV). He also served as Director of EGADE Business School at Tecnológico de Monterrey and spent more than three decades at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he held senior leadership roles advising companies, boards, and financial institutions.

José Antonio currently serves as President of the Colegio Nacional de Consejeros Profesionales Independientes de Empresas (CNCPIE) and Treasurer of the Consejo Coordinador Empresarial (CCE). His extensive expertise in governance, financial regulation, capital markets, and institutional development strengthens LBR’s Financial and Legal Committees, supporting disciplined decision-making, transparency, and long-term institutional growth.

As an Advisory Board Member, Etienne Luquet Farías brings an exceptional combination of constitutional law, public policy, regulatory affairs, and emerging technology expertise across Mexico and Latin America. His career spans senior positions within Mexico’s federal government and judiciary, as well as leadership roles advising technology and digital-asset companies on complex regulatory matters.

Etienne holds a Law degree from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School. He has also remained active in academia, teaching constitutional law, constitutional procedural law, and law and artificial intelligence.

Etienne’s combination of constitutional expertise, regulatory insight, and deep understanding of technological innovation strengthens LBR’s Legal Committee, supporting sophisticated legal analysis and strategic guidance at the intersection of law, governance, and the evolving digital economy.

As Advisor to the Finance Committee of León Barrena Rodríguez & Partners, Mr. Antonio Jiménez Pérez brings over thirty years of international experience across the legal, banking, insurance, and regulatory sectors, with a strong focus on financial integrity, compliance, and risk management.

Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership and advisory positions at leading global institutions including Citigroup, AXA, and Allianz. He currently serves as Director Founder of PriVip Group and CEO & Founder of Sekurgroup Consulting, advising on asset optimization, financial risk management, and structured private corporate debt, with a focus on cross-border real estate and development projects.

Mr. Jiménez has developed extensive expertise in compliance, internal controls, anti-money laundering, anti-corruption frameworks, and financial crime prevention. His work also includes advising on international whistleblower matters, white-collar defense collaborations, and complex financial risk mitigation across highly regulated environments.
